Johnston is currently the American correspondent for New Zealand Golf Magazine. He appears as a guest on PGA Tour Radio and other national sports shows.

NBA/EVS

Johnston works with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings producing highlights, instant replays, sponsorship content, and editing video recaps on EVS and Final Cut Pro. Johnston also free-lances for NBA.com as an ENG shooter for features with Charles Barkley and other Turner Sports talent.
Johnston also contributes written features on NBA players for various newspapers including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Des Moines Register, and Baton Rouge Advocate.

NFL/Football

Johnston’s NFL contributions include writing features on quarterbacks for the Kansas City Star, the Green Bay Post-Gazette, and USA Today Sports. He also produced video for CBSSports.com’s preps division MaxPreps.com.

Historical Content

Johnston’s video producing work on historical content has extended to National Parks in Charleston, South Carolina as well as San Francisco, California. For the National Park Service, Johnston produced an interpretive, call-to-action video on Fort Sumter National Monument. Garrett has also produced video content from Fort Sumter’s 150th anniversary and gathered editorial content on Alcatraz and its role in the American Civil War.
